Building an App & Online Ordering Platform

After 2021 we took a look at 3rd party delivery partners and what it was costing us to use them from margin cost. Once we realized that we paid close to $120k out of our check totals, we knew it was time to change this for us and our guests. Working with a company on the east coast we were able to develop our own Barrel House app as well as totally overhaul our online ordering platform to be more user friendly. This also allowed us to partner with doordash on their delivery only side and enabled us to provide the same experience to our guests but with no margin cost to our corporate and franchise locations.

Once we were able to launch our new app and online ordering platform, we then began to remove ourselves from 3rd party delivery sites. Doing this helped to mitigate a massive cost to our locations as well as pushed our customers to our system. This gave our team the ability to directly market and retarget customers with special promotions, in app advertising, and push notifications. Thus building on customer loyalty and retention, while at the same time automatically targeting customers that have not ordered for set periods of time.. 

We feel that investing in technology like this will assist in setting up our franchisees for success in an ever changing marketplace of online ordering, loyalty, and rising food costs. Our team is excited as we work on ways to grow our apps marketing capabilities while providing food that lifts your spirits.
