“Barrel House, an eastern Iowa restaurant chain serving upscale tavern food and craft beer, is set to open a location in the East Village this year. 

It will occupy the south suite of 401 E. Court Ave., a recently restored, 82-year-old building that was the city's first purpose-built A&P Super Market.

Barrel House joins Power Life Yoga and R. Mane Apothecary, a hair salon and CBD wellness shop, as the last tenants to fill the historic building, according to developer Tim Rypma. Power Life Yoga opened Monday, while R. Mane Apothecary has been open since November. 

Barrel House will open mid-year, said Chris Posey, director of marketing and franchise sales.”
